Cathodic Protection in low-conductivity and high-temperature environments

In response to a client’s request, we conducted cathodic protection tests on tools immersed in a freshwater solution with very low conductivity and high temperatures—a particularly challenging environment for protecting materials against corrosion.

To evaluate the system’s viability, we implemented magnesium anodes and performed a detailed analysis of the protection potentials. The results confirmed that cathodic protection is not only feasible in these extreme conditions but also represents a highly efficient solution for preventing corrosion.

This application demonstrates that cathodic protection can be successfully implemented in low-conductivity and high-temperature environments, providing a reliable and long-lasting option for protecting critical infrastructure.
