Zineti’s technical team had the honor of participating in the world’s first course on underwater shipwreck protection, held at the International Centre for Underwater Archaeology in Zadar. During our presentation, we presented in detail the principles and operation of cathodic protection applied to the conservation of underwater heritage.
Key points covered:
- Importance of cathodic protection in the preservation of historic shipwrecks.
- Methods to prevent corrosion in submerged metallic structures.
- Success stories in the conservation of shipwrecks using cathodic protection systems.

Cathodic protection was presented as an effective and durable solution to ensure the structural stability of shipwrecks, allowing for their long-term study and conservation. This technology represents a key advance in the protection of underwater cultural heritage, ensuring its preservation for future generations.
